Stephen Stokes, a Bob Jones University and Georgia State University alum, is a licensed CPA with over 20 years in the industry. Stephen specializes in Small Business Accounting, Business Management and Consulting, and Mergers and Acquisitions. Stepping in as president of Stokes & Company in 2009, he made it his mission to give clients and other business owners financial peace of mind. Since then, he has served his community in various ways, as the president of the SCACPA-Piedmont Chapter, a board member of local nonprofit organizations, and through his active involvement as a board member with the Professional Association of Small Business Accountants. In addition, Bob Jones University recognized Stephen with the Distinguished Alumni Award for his work. When he isn’t serving his clients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters and using his skills and talents to serve his church family.

Rachel McClaran joined Stokes & Company in 2017 with the merger of Wheeler & Associates, CPAs, after ten years of serving clients alongside her father, Gary Wheeler. Rachel plays a key role in developing our core processes and procedures, allowing her to successfully manage our accounting group in providing strategic monthly accounting and tax services. Additionally, she is dedicated to serving her community as a member of several nonprofit organizations and as the past Vice President of Finance for the Junior League of Greenville. Outside the office, she enjoys traveling and spending time on the water with her husband and their two children.

Chris Roberts’ career spans over 17 years and incorporates tax planning for small businesses and individuals alike. His genuine desire to see others grow and succeed is evident in how he manages the Stokes & Company offices in Gaffney, Spartanburg, and Columbus, NC. Chris also leads our tax group, providing leading tax planning and preparation services to benefit our clients. In his free time, Chris enjoys watching Georgia football, grilling outside, and spending time with his wife and four children.

With more than 44 years of experience, Allen specializes in taxes and general business accounting. He has an extensive background, including several corporate positions as a controller and Chief Financial Officer. In 2018 he merged his CPA firm with Stokes & Company, where he continued serving as a licensed CPA and Chartered Global Management Accountant until his retirement. He has since been elected as the Greenville County Treasurer and will take office in July 2023. Outside his career, he enjoys baseball, theater, history, and traveling with his wife.
